The Chief Medical Officer (the “CMO”) will provide leadership and coordinate system-wide efforts directed at improving effectiveness and efficiency of patient care and services. The CMO will lead and facilitate CHS’s efforts to enhance physician relationships across the system and will serve as the principal conduit for clinical perspectives throughout CHS. As a member of CHS’s Senior Management Team, the CMO will play a leadership role in helping CHS anticipate and adapt to the healthcare environment and will develop and facilitate processes to ensure appropriate input and involvement of physician and nursing leaders system-wide in CHS strategic planning and policy development.
Knowledge in the following areas: quality assessment and utilization management; clinical effectiveness/outcomes studies; trends in medical education, including graduate medical education; managed care, capitation and practice management. A demonstrated track record in the development and implementation of effective physician relationships. A leadership style which is based on influence, credibility, trust and respect accompanied by the ability to develop highly effective accountability/monitoring systems related to care delivery within a decentralized environment. The ability to design, develop and implement programs and services which provide value added and pragmatic assistance to local entities. Demonstrated ability to be a visionary leader with communication skills to assist CHS to create its own future. The ability to educate, function autonomously, perform effectively and serve as a contributing member of system leadership within a complex, geographically dispersed, dynamic healthcare ministry. Innovative thinker who commands authority by way of expertise and able to see the big picture while remaining attentive to details. High ethical and personal moral standards who is comfortable with and supportive of the mission and values of CHS. Doctorate Medical Degree, Board Certification with a minimum of ten (10) years of clinical experience, including substantial experience in health outcomes measurement and health management.
